Biography

Phil Wilson, a litigator, represents corporate clients and individuals in business litigation and has more than a decade of experience representing some of the country's leading insurance companies in his insurance coverage practice, handling matters involving financial products, complex allocation issues, general and D&O liability, and warranty coverage. In addition, he has an extensive financial and tax accounting background which has served him well in his insurance, financial products, tax, and commercial litigation practices.

Phil also handles state and federal litigation involving construction projects, commercial contracts, employer liability, corporate governance, broker-dealer relationships, class actions, and postal regulation. He has also advised on employment policies, including obtaining and resisting temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions in noncompetition/trade secret litigation. He has participated in proceedings in the Supreme Court of the United States and is experienced in working on matters before administrative bodies and the American Arbitration Association.

Phil is actively involved in pro bono work, and recently successfully represented disenfranchised African-American voters in Pennsylvania in their suit against the county Board of Elections to move their polling place to a safe and accessible location (he worked on this case with the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia and the ACLU of Pennsylvania). Other recent pro bono work includes handling real estate tax appeals for low-income Philadelphians and representing local artists in tax disputes through Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Phil also works in his community, as a parent volunteer for the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County and as a coach and member of the board of the Lower Bucks Lacrosse Club.

Phil graduated magna cum laude from Temple University School of Law in 1996, where he was editor of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal and a member of the Temple Law Review. He earned his BA from Kenyon College in 1991. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert J. Shenkin of the Chester County (Pa.) Court of Common Pleas (1996 – 1997). Prior to joining Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller, he was a partner with DLA Piper.
