Biography
Mr. Bloom's practice is concentrated in the areas of corporate reorganization, bankruptcy, commercial workouts and creditors' rights. He graduated with honors from George Washington University Law School in 1974, where he was Notes and Comments Editor and Senior Editor of the Journal of International Law and Economics. Mr. Bloom received his B.A. from Hamilton College in 1970. From 1974 to 1976, Mr. Bloom served as law clerk to the Honorable Daniel J. Snyder, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Bloom has served on the staff of the Commission on Bankruptcy Laws of the United States and as an attorney with the United States Environmental Protection Agency. In 2008, Mr. Bloom was appointed to the Commercial Panel of the American Arbitration Association. He authors a popular column on Bankruptcy in The Legal Intelligencer and has written articles that are often published in other legal publications throughout the country. Mr. Bloom also frequently lectures to professional groups on the topics of bankruptcy, lender liability and related fields.
