Joseph A. Dworetzky Appointed to Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority


Philadelphia, PA – December 20, 2004Joseph A. Dworetzky, a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of the law firm of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, was recently confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA).

On April 8, 2004 Governor Edward G. Rendell signed an Executive order to reinstate PEDA to “provide financing for a wide range of energy research, development and demonstration projects that will promote and utilize indigenous energy resources in Pennsylvania.”  PEDA will be administered by the Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Energy and Technology Development.

Mr. Dworetzky is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.  He concentrates his practice in bankruptcy law and commercial litigation.  Prior to joining Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, Mr. Dworetzky served as City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia and was a member of Mayor Rendell’s cabinet.  Mr. Dworetzky is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and is the Third Circuit representative to the Board of Regents of that organization.  He has also serves as Director of the William Penn Foundation and is a Board Member of Moore College of Art and Design.
