Daniel Segal Honored at Akiba Hebrew Academy Annual Gala


Philadelphia, PAApril 5, 2005 – Daniel Segal, a founding member of the law firm of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, was recently honored by the Akiba Hebrew Academy at their Annual Gala Purim Ball.  Mr. Segal was honored for his service as past President of Akiba from 1993-1995.  He currently serves on Akiba’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Akiba Hebrew Academy was founded in 1946 and is the oldest community Jewish secondary school in North America.  The founders set out to establish an intensive and pluralistic program of Jewish studies integrated with a comprehensive college preparatory program.  This year 335 students, representing every spectrum of Jewish observance and life, are enrolled in grades 6-12.

Mr. Segal chairs Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin’s Litigation Department.  He concentrates his litigation practice in commercial matters, education law, toxic tort law, First Amendment law, intellectual property law, and environmental law.  In addition to serving as past President of Akiba Hebrew Academy, Mr. Segal is also past President of the Juvenile Law Center, past President of the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education, and past Chair of the Philadelphia Soviet Jewry Council.  He is currently vice president of Hillel of Greater Philadelphia.  He is also Master of the Bench of the University of Pennsylvania Law School American Inn of Court.
