John S. Summers Appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Reinvestment Fund


Philadelphia, PAOctober 7, 2005 – John S. Summers, a Shareholder in the Litigation Department of the law firm of Hangley Aronchick Segal & Pudlin, was recently appointed Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Reinvestment Fund.

The Reinvestment Fund (TRF), with $258 million in assets, is a nationally recognized development finance corporation that puts capital and private initiative to work for the public good.  It focuses on wealth-building for low- and moderate-income individuals from Maryland to New Jersey through the strategic use of capital, knowledge and innovation. 

Mr. Summers is a civil and white collar criminal defense litigator.  In addition to his involvement with The Reinvestment Fund, Mr. Summers is Secretary of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and has served as a Trustee on the Bar Foundation’s Board for six years.  He is the immediate past Chair of the Bar Foundation’s Grants Committee.  Mr. Summers has also served as a Member and Chair of a hearing panel of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Summers is currently Lecturer-in-Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he teaches “Appellate Advocacy.”
