“securing safety, justice, well-being and a permanent, nurturing environment for every child”

For well over a decade, Hangley Aronchick attorneys have partnered with the Support Center for Child Advocates to represent abused and neglected children and youth removed from their Philadelphia homes. We are proud, on a daily basis, to devote our services pro bono to further the Support Center’s mission of “securing safety, justice, well-being and a permanent, nurturing environment for every child.”

Representing these children demands and develops our attorneys’ legal skills, from our senior shareholders through our junior associates. Partnering with licensed social workers from the Support Center, we must be nimble in courtroom hearings and trials, often making legal arguments or cross-examining witnesses with little prior notice or discovery. We navigate a daunting, complex system of social services. And we must address a seemingly limitless set of problems that may face our clients and their families, such as physical, mental and sexual violence, lack of steady access to housing, poverty, parallel criminal proceedings, psychological trauma, and more.

Shareholders Steve Miano and Bo Ebby have received the Support Center’s Distinguished Child Advocate Award, and Matt Klebanoff and other attorneys currently represent abused children with the Support Center.
