John Gracie Mackay Coit, an associate in the Litigation Department, focuses his practice on general and commercial litigation matters.
John earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of Production for the Virginia Journal of International Law, and did pro bono work for the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition and Migrant Farm Workers Project. He earned his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College.
Prior to joining the firm, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lance E. Walker of the United States District Court for the District of Maine and to the Honorable B. Lynn Winmill of the United States District Court for the District of Idaho. He also worked as a litigation associate with Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP in Philadelphia. Before practicing law, John taught Spanish and AP Government and coached tennis at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
