We are pleased to announce that Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller was named one of Law360’s Regional Powerhouses for Pennsylvania. The series highlights firms with a strong regional presence who have had notable wins and deals over the past year.

The firm was recognized for its many high-profile cases including successfully challenging the district court’s appointment of a custodian to lead Republic First Bank, obtaining a precedential decision rejecting a challenge to a ban on fracking in the Delaware River Basin and defending the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office against impeachment efforts.

Our involvement in election law and voting rights matters included defending Pennsylvanians’ right to mail-in voting, defending state officials in voting machine challenges and representing the commonwealth in congressional map redistricting efforts. Hangley Aronchick successfully represented Pennsylvania state officials before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and Commonwealth courts, and were instrumental in related appeals to the United States Supreme Court.

Hangley Aronchick’s insurance team secured a number of wins, including one on behalf of Federal Insurance Co., a unit of Chubb, in the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. The court found that an employee’s liability exclusion did not apply in the case of an underlying death claim brought against Dana Mining Co. of Pennsylvania. The insurance team also secured a win in a cutting edge matter over “bump-up” claim coverage in California federal court.

Each year, Law360 recognizes law firms in California, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Texas for demonstrating exceptional capabilities by handling some of the biggest deals and most high-profile courtroom battles and offering clients regional expertise and making a lasting impact on the law at the state and local levels.
