Appropriately enough for a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan, Alex joined the firm the day after the Eagles’ thrilling victory in Super Bowl LII.

Justice in the Community

Alex has worked on pro bono projects with organizations including HIAS Pennsylvania, the Center for Victims of Torture, and the Pennsylvania Innocence Project.

Alex Egerváry litigates with the firm’s Antitrust group, helping private clients enforce the Sherman Act against companies that violate the federal antitrust laws.

His practice is focused on representing clients in challenging anticompetitive practices such as reverse payments, exclusionary practices, and price-fixing in the pharmaceutical industry. Alex has seen complicated multi-party cases from beginning to end, including working on the trial teams for several major antitrust cases. He makes use of his extensive experience in legal and professional writing and research to put forward the best arguments possible at each step in litigation.

Alex also maintains an active pro bono practice, including aiding refugees seeking humanitarian aid with their immigration efforts in conjunction with HIAS Pennsylvania and collaborating with a team of HASPS lawyers on a series of federal amicus briefs on behalf of the Center for Victims of Torture and a group of anti-torture NGOs, scholars, and other advocates. Through the Philadelphia Bar Foundation’s Board Observer Program, he served a term with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project. He is also an active member of the firm’s Marketing Committee.

Before joining HASPS, Alex worked at a major law firm in New York City, focusing on complex commercial and white-collar litigation, and with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Vaccine Litigation. He earned his law degree from Columbia Law School, where he was Executive Production Editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Alex worked for nearly 10 years as a professional writer, editor, and journalist, culminating in his role as Managing Editor of the American Pharmacist Association’s Pharmacy Today.
