Ellen Heiman helps corporate and individual clients resolve complex commercial and business disputes. Helping clients in a range of industries, she works on all stages of a potential dispute, from early case assessment through post-trial motions.
A skilled researcher and writer, Ellen has experience crafting motions, requests for discovery, and briefs across a variety of state and federal areas of law. Ellen also brings significant experience with environmental law and related litigation, including managing and drafting permit applications for large-scale renewable energy projects, collaborating with expert witnesses to prepare scientific reports, and preparing for trial and arbitration. She deftly manages multifaceted disputes, many of which involve multiple parties or are multijurisdictional, and coordinates third-party subpoenas and discovery requests and responses.
Prior to joining the firm, Ellen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Cynthia M. Rufe of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and to the Honorable Marjorie O. Rendell of the Third Circuit and as a litigation associate in the San Francisco office of a global law firm. During law school, she interned for the Environmental Integrity Project and the Public Interest Law Center. Prior to law school, she worked as a middle school science teacher.
