Eric Garcia advises insurers and reinsurers on policy language, exclusions and obligations under business insurance policies, analyzing commercial contracts for legal and business risks. He helps clients evaluate their internal corporate policies to ensure their policies comply with legal and industry standards, and when necessary, helps revise those policies.
Should issues arise, Eric helps clients prepare for possible litigation through research, fact determination as well as discovery preparation and response. He drafts pleadings, motions and appellate briefs, and researches essential legal and insurance industry issues.
Eric served as a law clerk for Associate Justice Faustino Fernandez-Vina of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and was a judicial extern to U.S. District Judge Robert Kugler (D.N.J.). In his work for Associate Justice Fernandez-Vina, Eric researched and wrote legal memoranda in preparation for oral arguments and for the court’s position on granting certification. Using his keen eye for detail, he wrote and proofread opinions for the Associate Justice.
