Shareholders Cheryl Young and Jerry Shoemaker and associate Mathew Gomez presented at the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Family Law Section’s Summer Meeting, which was held July 10 – 13, 2025, in Washington, DC. At the meeting, Jerry also began his term as section chair, a role he will hold for one year.
Cheryl, chair of the Family Law practice, was a panelist for “Show Me the Money: Making ‘Cents’ of Complex Divorce Settlements” on Friday, July 11. Jerry moderated the discussion, which explored the nuances and challenges of negotiating, structuring and developing solutions for complex financial issues in divorce settlements.
On Sunday, July 13, Mathew Gomez discussed “Case Law, Rules & Legislative Updates.” The interactive panel highlighted recent appellate decisions and contemplated how those decisions will impact family law issues in the future.
