Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller is proud to announce that Thomas N. Brown and Kyle M. Heisner have been elected shareholders of the firm. Both attorneys are part of the Litigation and Insurance Coverage practices and are based in the firm’s Philadelphia office.
Tom and Kyle served as of counsel to the firm before being elected shareholder, effective January 1.
“Tom and Kyle are invaluable members of our insurance coverage and litigation teams, consistently delivering exceptional results for our clients in complex matters,” said Ronald Schiller, chair of Hangley Aronchick and head of the firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice. “We are thrilled to recognize their contributions to the firm and look forward to their continued leadership as we serve insurers and corporate clients navigating increasingly sophisticated disputes.”
Tom Brown represents insurers, technology companies, transportation companies, and individual professionals across a wide range of complex civil litigation matters. He has handled matters involving every stage of litigation, from early-stage case assessment and planning, through discovery and dispositive motions, to trial, post-trial motions, and appellate briefing. His clients include insurers of all sizes in sophisticated third-party coverage and bad faith matters, frequently involving eight-figure healthcare professional liability, long-term care facilities liability, commercial general liability, and directors-and-officers liability coverage disputes. He has also represented local and national transportation companies in multiple matters in Pennsylvania state and federal courts and in arbitration.
Prior to joining the firm, Tom clerked for the Honorable Anthony J. Scirica of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He earned his law degree from Yale Law School in 2015 and graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 2007.
Kyle Heisner handles a range of coverage and bad faith matters involving corporate directors and officers, financial institutions, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and colleges and universities. He litigates high exposure insurance coverage actions involving additional insureds, construction and product defects and ground contamination claims. He also prepares coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and serves as monitoring counsel for professional liability coverage claims. Along with his insurance coverage work, Kyle handles contractual disputes, real estate disputes and transactions, and other complex litigation.
Kyle earned his law degree, cum laude, in 2010 from Villanova University School of Law, where he was the Managing Editor of Symposia for the Villanova Law Review and served as a Legal Extern for the Honorable Joel H. Slomsky of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
